I have been the co-owner of Urban Craft Uprising since its first show at the Seattle Center, in 2006. I fell in love with the job of organizing when I became Logistical Director of Camp Miriam at the age of 21, and knew that my dream would be to manage the systems and intricacies of events in other contexts.
A Seattle native, I took a hiatus from the city for a half decade to live in various locales from Israel to Ohio to Montreal, and then back to Seattle for a fateful year that intersected with UCU’s establishment as a Seattle mainstay, before migrating to Portland where I’ve been ever since.
While growing Urban Craft Uprising from the ground up, I also opened Yarnia, a custom yarn shop, right at the onset of the recession of 2008, and ran it as a full-service brick & mortar for eight and a half years. As Urban Craft Uprising continued to grow at an exponential pace, it no longer felt manageable to be putting equal amounts of energy into both businesses, and I made the decision in 2016 to close the doors to Yarnia and convert it to an online-only business.
I love turning ideas into actions, thinking through all the “what-if”s, and preparing accordingly–whether it’s with my businesses, at home planning a weekend campout, my own wedding, or a climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro.
I am also a mobile notary public within the greater Portland area. Please use the contact form below if you have any notarization needs and I will be happy to help.
One of the most important steps you can take as a business owner is to identify the systems and habits that are not working for you, and replace them with something that is. I can help you find these problem areas, and replace them with practices that are more efficient and well-suited to you.
In my work with Urban Craft Uprising and as organizer of our annual small business retreat Camp ThunderCraft, I have 15 years of experience with helping small creative business owners grow, and helping to connect them with their best customers.
my areas of expertise
Please get in touch if you’d like to see how we might work together. We will begin with a free 20-minute strategy session to hone in on the areas you’d most like to target, and come up with a game plan that works for you. For the time being during the COVID situation I will be conducting all sessions and consultations over Zoom.
